Glenwood Springs Colorado - as exciting or relaxing as you choose

Glenwood Spring's own Hot Springs Pool

Experience this natural wonder!  The large pool is 400 X 100 ft with a water temperature kept at 90 degrees.  The smaller pool, known as the therapy pool, is kept at a temperature of 104 degrees.

A common questions is "where does the hot water come from"?  It's from a natural spring, called the Yampah spring.  As detailed on the Hot Springs Pool website, "The Yampah spring is located at the eastern most end of our property. It has a daily flow of 3,500,000 gallons of water, at approximately 122 degrees F, or 51 degrees C. The source for the Yampah spring is water percolated through fractures in the bedrock formation and into the Leadville aquifer. As this occurs the water is heated by the geothermal gradient in the area. The source of water for the spring is from south of the Colorado River in the Lookout Mountain and Grand Hogback areas."
